You are the love of my life
For many years I had what was truly an enviable life: I was married to a successful dentist and had a large, hilltop home in Calabasas, California, where we lived with our three beautiful sons who were—and are—the lights of my life. And then, 10 years ago, when I was 47, everything changed. My relationship with my husband began to deteriorate, and I discovered he had a girlfriend. We filed for divorce, and I ended up losing my marriage and our home. It was the darkest time of my life. Every day, I went through the motions: I went to work as an executive, made dinner, and went to bed. But I felt like an empty shell of a person. This went on for a while, until I woke up one day, tired of who I was. I looked in the mirror and saw someone who was overweight and frumpy. I didn't even recognize myself. It was at that moment that I realized I had to make a change.(Get fit at home! My husband Dexter and I aren’t the kind of couple with a “goodie drawer.” And I never imagined we would be, either; I have a history of sex-toy skepticism, since every vibrator I’d ever seen before was either cold, hard plastic or icky, sticky rubber. But a single evening with Eva, the couples’ vibrator by Dame, changed that forever. After just a peek at the Eva, it was easy to get both of us on board with giving it a shot. I had no idea how open my husband would be to try it out (he was very open, it turns out!), but Dexter works in tech, and so he was drawn to Eva’s gorgeous design and beautiful packaging. We both loved its incredibly soft, almost skinlike feel. (Here are the best vibrators for women, according to sex experts.)(Want to pick up some healthier habits? Right before her 30th birthday, Ann Smith got a warning from her doctor—she had to make some major lifestyle changes to avoid future illness. Once she got healthy, she realized she wanted the same for her family and her community. So she got to work. Just before my 30th birthday, I went to my doctor for a yearly exam. She didn't have good news. She told me that, at 256 pounds, I was obese and prediabetic and had high blood pressure. She said that if I kept up my current lifestyle, I'd get really sick, really fast, and she put me on a 1,200-calorie-a-day diet.(Take back control of your eating—and lose weight in the process—with our 21-Day Challenge!)"I'm just turning 30 and my life is over," I thought. Rebecca DiNitto LeSaffre, 54, never exercised before her health took a turn for the worse in her 30s. Since then, she's gotten in the best shape of her life, and showed it off at a fitness competition at age 50. The certified personal trainer and fitness studio owner told Prevention what it was like to strut her stuff. The holidays are great. Crowded AF shopping malls, awkward encounters with your in-laws, and being asked lots of embarrassing questions by relatives you only see a few times a year. This article was written by Sunny Megatron and republished with permission for YourTango.Upon meeting a prospective partner in a coffee shop or at the corner bar, they often become “Coffee Shop Hottie” or “Corner Bar Dude” in casual conversation amongst friends. When I first met the love of my life, my best friend and I secretly referred to him as “The Sex Clown.”We met on Fetlife. I was kinky, he was kinky. I saw photos of his most intimate moments and read about his dirtiest fantasies before I even knew him. After we started dating I kept thinking, “Ken is awesome. Dare I say perfect! He’s kind, caring, smart, funny and successful. I get him. I like him a lot both in and out of bed. We’re into many of the same kinks—the spanking, the choking, the fondness for oral and masturbation, but...I just don’t understand the clown thing!”After looking at his … [Read more...] about ‘The Love of My Life Has a Clown Fetish’
Fear,I’m afraid you are the only friend I have got Every living being has some level of “survival instinct”, specially “human beings”; this means each of us likes to live and would do just about anything to stay alive. If we want to summarize the human response to a life threatening situation, we could say it’s “Fight or Flight”; meaning whenever we encounter a threat we would either Fight or Run. This common feature makes us predictable so those of us who want to rule exploit this internal survival mechanism and that’s what’s happening right now. For instance, if I tell you “there is a terrorist group backed by foreign countries trying to detonate a nuclear bomb in our country, I don’t know when or where but I’m sure it’s going to happen”, what would you do? Well, IF you believe me, depending on your personality and your current situation, you might FIGHT or RUN. IF I’m the government of … [Read more...] about Fear,I’m afraid you are the only friend I have got
When I first got involved in spiritual life I was told that everything animate and inanimate that is within the universe is controlled and owned by the Lord and that one should therefore accept only those things necessary for himself, which are set aside as his quota, and that one should not accept other things knowing well to whom they belong. A living being who lives in the mundane world has four defects: So, a person with these four imperfections cannot deliver perfect knowledge. Since God is all-perfect, there is no possibility of His being subjected to the laws of material nature, which He controls. Yet, both the living entities and inanimate objects are controlled by His potency. When He speaks through His written word in scripture, it is perfect. The elements of nature – earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and ego – all belong to His inferior, material energy, whereas the living being, the organic energy, is His superior energy. Both of these … [Read more...] about The essence of spiritual life
By the time we got the letter, my son was already excited about sixth grade and going to middle school. He had been through a wonderful weeklong orientation, met his teachers, found his locker, and felt like he already fit in. He loved the sixth grade team (so did I) and couldn’t wait to play drums and join the band. Fifth grade had been miserable with his beloved teacher leaving and a bully who made it his daily mission to get my son in trouble. Then we received the letter stating, “all incoming sixth graders must get the pertussis (whooping cough) booster before the start of school.” I found it odd that only the sixth grade was mentioned. There were two other grades there that all interacted in the halls, gym, etc. My first call was to the school nurse. She assured me it was mandatory and necessary due to an outbreak of whooping cough cases in the school system. The outbreak was believed to originate from a child in middle school who had not been vaccinated for … [Read more...] about Vaccination: Will the owner of my body, mind, and soul please stand up?
